The curfew was relaxed from 6am to 8pm considering the Chaurchan festival that is widely celebrated among the Madhesi community members in the evening. Residents flocked to market to buy daily commodities. The market had been closed for nearly a month by the protesting political parties.Chief District Officer Dipak Kafle told Republica said that the administration would revise the curfew schedule in the town after analyzing the situation further for the next five days.
"No unpleasant happening has been reported since Saturday, life will hopefully get back to normalcy soon," he said expressing hope for peaceful days ahead.
