Adhikari elected SEJON chair

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Bigyan Adhikari has been elected chairman of the Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON) on Saturday. Adhikari secured 117 out of 220 votes whereas his opponent Pradip Chapagain secured only 96 votes.



In the 14th general assembly of SEJON, Lok Bahadur Chapagain was elected vice-chairman and Pushparaj Acharya general secretary. Chapagain and Pushparaj are affiliated to Karobar daily. Likewise, Roshan Adhikari, journalist of Kantipur daily has been elected secretary. According to the election committee, Diwakar Panta, journalists of Kantipur Television is new treasurer. [break]



Likewise, Karobar daily journalists Bhuwan Paudel and Yadav Humagain, Pratikshya Khanal of Kantipur FM, Ashish Gyanwali of Annapurna Post, Ram Raja Shrestha of Arthik Abhiyan are members of the executive committee.



Advisor to the finance minister Chiranjivi Nepal had inaugurated the general assembly. He said, “The journalists have an important role in the economic development of the country.”
