KATHMANDU, April 20: The Janamat Party has called for the government to address the demands of teachers.
Issuing a statement on Sunday, party Spokesperson Sharad Singh Yadav expressed solidarity with the ongoing teachers’ protest and emphasized the need to fulfill their demands.

"The government of Nepal must address the distortions and confusion seen in the educational policy, laws, and the overall education sector," the statement read.
He further added, "The Janamat Party urges the government of Nepal to immediately hold talks with the protesting teachers, address their legitimate demands, and bring forth the Education Act."
The Teachers’ Association has been staging continuous protests since March 31, demanding the introduction of the new Education Act. They have firmly stated that they will not return to work until the law is enacted.
