"These awards recognize the project teams´ excellent performances, efficiency in implementation and meeting of targets -- both on paper and on the ground," said Barry J Hitchcock, country director, ADB, at a function.
Hitchcock added that successful implementation of the projects have significantly contributed toward maximizing ADB´s overall contribution to helping reduce poverty in the country, particularly among the rural poor and disadvantaged, and in supporting efforts to empower women and promoting inclusive development.
According to a statement, the CLDP aims to reduce incidence of poverty in rural areas of 48 districts through an intensive livestock program, livestock processing and marketing, and high-altitude livelihood pilot programs.
Similarly, RCSP will support construction and upgrading of 490 km of 10 feeder roads, while the DRILP´s goal is to reduce poverty in 18 remote hill and mountain districts affected by the conflict.
