KATHMANDU, March 5: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai, has directed the officials of his ministry to form an action team to study the impact of coronavirus on tourism industry and identify measures that need to be taken to address them.
Speaking at a discussion with stakeholders in Kathmandu on Wednesday, he urged the stakeholders to write to the ministry if any policy-level decisions were needed to negate the impact.
He added that the action team will be led by tourism secretary. "I request all of you to send your suggestions to deal with the crisis to the action team," he said.
Bhattarai further added that the ministry was preparing to add health desks at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and other entry points across the country.
