KATHMANDU, APRIL 30: A secretariat meeting of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) has urged the party leadership to make a decision soon, through political consensus, on the army chief Rokmangud Katawal.

Emerging from the six-hour-long meeting, Maoist Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said, “The government should show maximum flexibility while initiating action against Nepal Army chief Katawal."

But then he quickly added that the party should not back down from taking action against army chief Katawal.

Immediately after the meeting, Prime Minister and Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal set out to visit President Dr Ram Baran Yadav.
