KATHMANDU, May 14: Nepal Police has arrested UML’s suspended secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who had been absconding since the court issued an arrest warrant against him two weeks ago in connection with the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.
Kamal Giri, press advisor to Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, confirmed that Rayamajhi has been detained from Budhanilkantha area of Kathmandu. Rayamajhi is accused of being involved in a racket of sending people to the United States identifying them as Bhutanese refugees.

On May 3, the police issued an arrest warrant against Rayamajhi. While Rayamajhi is absconding, his son Sandeep has been already arrested by the police.
Suspended CPN-UML secretary and former deputy prime minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi was on the fugitive list of the police. Few days ago, he sent an email to the parliament secretariat claiming that he has been taken ill.
