Abducted journo freed

DANG, July 2: Journalist Keshav Bohara, who was abducted on Wednesday was freed safely Thursday night in Kapilvastu. He was handed over to his parents by rights workers and journalists Friday afternoon.



Bohara was abducted after he aired news from Mandavi FM about the continued seizure of land belonging to Swargadwari Ashram by the Maoists. He had received threats after airing the story.



Bohara said the abductors identified themselves as Maoists and told him not to report on the issue. The abductors also told him that they would not have freed him had Prime Minister Madhav Nepal not announced his resignation.
