KATHMANDU, Oct 18: Advertising Association of Nepal (AAN) has asked the government to immediately stop removing hoarding boards from various parts of Kathmandu Valley.

The government had started removing these billboards from the city in the name of restoring the beauty of the city and managing traffic. [break]

But AAN, in a statement, said the government´s move goes against the advertisement policy which allows outdoor advertisements through the use of various kinds of boards and banners.

“AAN has repeatedly held discussion with the government and local authorities on outdoor advertisement and has laid suggestions on maintaining city´s beauty and public´s security.

Despite this the government has started removing hoarding boards arbitrarily, which has not only added financial burden on enterprises but also put a question mark on the government´s credibility,” the statement added.
