Thirty-five persons including a two-month old girl test positive for COVID-19 in Karnali Province

BIRENDRANAGAR, Sept 18: Thirty-five more persons including a two-month old baby girl tested positive for COVID-19 in Karnali Province on Friday.



According to the health division of the Province Hospital based in Surkhet, Rukum (West), Surkhet, Salyan and Mugu witnessed 23, six, five and one cases of COVID-19 respectively. The new cases were detected through PCR tests conducted at the province hospital lab on Friday.


Two persons each from Lekbeshi and Bheriganga municipalities of Surkhet were diagnosed with coronavirus and one person each from Panchapuri Municipality and Simta Rural Municipality tested positive for the deadly virus.

Bangadkupinde Municipality and Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality of Salyan witnessed four and one case of COVID-19 on Friday.


Twenty-three persons including a two-month-old girl tested positive for coronavirus in Chaurjahari Municipality of Rukum (West). One person from Khatyad Rural Municipality of Mugu was also diagnosed with the coronavirus disease.


With the latest figure, the number of people infected with coronavirus has reached 3,063 in Karnali Province. At least 16 COVID-19 patients were discharged after recovery on Friday. With this, the number of people to be discharged after recovery has risen to 649.
