Kathmandu district alone sees 43 new cases
KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Kathmandu Valley has reported as many as 51 new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
MoHP Spokesperson Dr Jageshwar Gautam said 43 more people in Kathmandu were diagnosed with this viral infection, while the number of those infected in Bhaktapur and Lalitpur stood 5 and 3, respectively. Their infections were confirmed at various labs inside the Valley.
The ministry, however, has not revealed their identity and the location of their residence.
Kathmandu Valley has witnessed a sharp rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in recent days as people from various places across the country are entering Kathmandu following the decision of the government to lift the nationwide lockdown.
