The consensus over names of the 31 members was reached after hard closed-door negotiations beginning 4 p.m. Tuesday after earlier effort to strike a consensus failed. There were 149 candidates for 31 posts in the CWC of what is arguably the largest party in Madhes and fourth largest party in the Constituent Assembly (and Legislature-Parliament).

The election for the 31 posts was to begin at about 4 p.m. The election committee of the party authorized the party chairman Yadav to select the members for the CWC.

"I will fight against discrimination prevailing in Himal (mountains), Pahad (hills) and Madhes (plains)," said Chairman Yadav.

Prior to the National Convention, the MPRF was racked by internal feud with some senior members challenging Yadav´s leadership. Tuesday´s events have strengthened the party chairman´s supremacy.
