KATHMANDU, July 20: A huge flock of devotees was witnessed at the Pashupatinath Temple area on Monday.
This day (first Monday of the month) is observed and celebrated with huge fanfare by the followers of Hinduism in the month of Shrawan. Shrawan is the fourth month in the lunar calendar dedicated to Lord Shiva and his spouse Parvati. People fast and worship Lord Shiva and Parvati. It is believed that worshiping them will help people seek salvation.
Devotees were seen waiting in long queues to worship at Pashupatinath Temple. The Temple however is not opened for such kinds of activities. Despite lockdown orders and heavy downpour, people were seen in huge numbers in the Pashupatinath area.
