KATHMANDU, Nov 19: All the resident doctors at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) will boycott classroom activities from Sunday, in a show of support for the hunger strike staged by Dr Govinda KC.
Dr KC, a senior orthopedic surgeon at TUTH, began his 10th fast-unto-death from November 13, to end anarchy in the medical sector.
Dr Leison Maharjan, president of the National Resident Doctors Association (NRDA), said that they have decided to boycott teaching at the Institute of Medicine (IOM) from Sunday.
“We will also organize a peace rally, beginning from IOM to the residence of the prime minister at Baluwatar on Saturday to support Dr. KC's strike. MMBS students, IOM staff, health workers from Bir Hospital and other health institutions will take part in the rally,” he said.
