Rangeli victims' family receive aid
BIRATNAGAR, 27: Sai Sewa Samaj provided two deceased families of the Rangeli incident with financial aid on Wednesday.

Dr Sundarmani Dixit, chairperson of Sai Samaj Sewa, handed over Rs 150,000 to the family of Mahadev Rishidev, and Rs 100,000 to Shibu Majhi's family amid a function organized at Kali Temple premises in Rangeli.

Along with that, the Sai Sewa Samaj announced free school education to deceased Rishidev's four children and the Sabita Agrawal Memorial Trust pledged free education up to grade 10 for the child of deceased Majhi.

Addressing the function organized to support the victim's family, Dr Dixit expressed grief over the Rangeli incident and said that aspirations and sentiments of Madhes are being hurt by major political parties.

“Major parties are responsible for increasing tension among Nepalis,” he claimed accusing the government of resorting to violence instead of resolving current impasse through dialogue and peaceful means.

Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Morang chairperson Raj Kumar Yadav accused the police of opening fire on Madhesi protesters instead of trying to using batons as primary method to control the protests. He demanded formation of a high level investigation commission to probe into Rangeli incident.

Last Thursday, Draupadi Devi Chaudhary, 58, of Rangeli, Shibu Majhi, 20, of Dayniya, and Mahadev Rishidev, 28, of Bardanga succumbed to bullet injuries after police opened fire when Madhesi demonstrators tried to disrupt a program in Rangeli organized by Youth Force (YF), the youth wing of CPN-UML.
