According to Pandey, the T20 event will feature 16 teams and will be played on knockout basis. Departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club, a team each from Pokhara, Makawanpur and Nuwakot and other teams from the capital will compete in the event. The tournament does not have restriction to field national and local players.
Stating the reason behind choosing cricket, Pandey said, “We believe that the tournament will serve as platform for the young players to show talents as well as hone their skills.”
The winner and the runner-up teams will be awarded cash purse of Rs 101,111 and Rs 51,111 along with trophies and medals. Similarly, the best batsman, bowler, fielder, emerging player, man-of-the-match and man-of-the-series will also be awarded.
