9 variants of Fiat Punto, Linea roll in the city

KATHMANDU, June 6: Batas Brothers Motors has introduced the 2012 variants of Fiat Punto and Linea cars in the local market.



The authorized distributor of Fiat in Nepal has started selling two variants of Punto and Linea each in petrol segment and two variants of Punto and three variants of Linea in diesel segment. Punto Active and Dynamic and Linea Active and Dynamic will be available in both petrol and diesel segments, while Linea Emotion will be available only in diesel segment, according to Alok Josee, deputy general manager of Batas Brothers Motors.[break]



Josee said the most visible change in the new models of Punto and Linea is the new striking oceanic blue exterior shade that provides a distinguishable look.

Fiat has also increased the ride height by 185 mm in both the cars to enhance drivers´ comfort and road stability.







The petrol segment of Punto Active and Dynamic is equipped with 1.2 liter engine, while the diesel models will have 1.3 liter engine. Similarly, Linea Active and Dynamic will have 1.4 liter petrol engine while Linea Active, Dynamic and Emotion will use 1.3 liter diesel engine.



Radio with single CD and MP3 with four speakers, central door locking, seat fabric change, carpet color and central console color change, powerful air conditioning and brighter dual tone interior are some of the added features in Punto. Similarly, Linea has additional features like integrated CD, MP3 and FM player with 4 speakers, speed sensitive volume adjuster for audio player, central door locking, power windows with delay feature, power steering, tilt adjustable steering, internally adjustable outside rear view mirrors and rear parcel shelf among others. Some of the features are available only on high-end models.



Both Punto and Linea have dual front air bags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD), fire prevention system (FPS), anti-theft engine immobilizer, digital door open indicator and higher ground clearance, key less remote entry and much more comfort and convenience features among others, according to Josee. “It is good news for the customers that they are getting the updated models in almost the same price as that of the previous models. Hence, we are hopeful that the customers will love the car,” he added.



The new variant of Punto and Linea will have available in six attractive colors -- exotica red, minima grey, medium grey, electric blue, bossa nova white and hip hop black for both the cars.



“We have set a target to sell 250 units of new models within a year,” said Josee.
