Gajendra Bahadur Limbu collected 34 points and secured the second place in the tournament played over 18 holes on a stableford format with ¾ handicap allowance. Gajendra stood ahead of Vinod Aswini Saxena in count back.
Korean Mi Ae Sim won the trophy of ladies category with 37 points, while Jina Ryu stood behind her country mate with 36 points.
Rabindra Raj Pandey with 29 points won the title of senior grouping whereas Krishna Narayan Singh Thapa was runner up with 28 points.
Tsultrim Lama bagged the prize for best gross and longest drive in the tournament sponsored by United Spirits Nepal Pvt Limited. Jamling Ghale won the prize for closest to the pin.
Referees off to Guangzhou
KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Fourteen karate referees left Kathmandu for Guangzhou to take part in the Ninth AKF Karatedo Championship. They will participate in the referees´ seminar which will take place before the championship. According to karate coach Dipak Shrestha, they are participating in the seminar with their own expenses.
Meanwhile, players´ participation in the championship is still uncertain. Nepal Karatedo Federation has asked players to manage own expenses in Guangzhou but the players are reluctant to do so.
Motorcycle rally winners awarded
KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Nepal Automobile Sports Association handed out prizes to the winners of Kathmandu-Jiri Motorcycle Rally on Saturday.
Youth and Sports Minister Ganesh Tiwari Nepali presented the trophy to the winning pair Ayusha Dhaubanjar and Monish Mulepati at a function held at National Sports Council hall.
Ayusha and Monish had topped the rally that concluded on September 13. Shyamsunder Shilpakar and Jayaprakash Tundukar teamed up to collect the second prize.
