KATHMANDU, Feb 20: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has designated Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada to also look after the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
President Bhandari designated Finance Minister Dr Khatiwarda with the additional portfolio, on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The appointment comes following resignation by Minister for Communications and Informational Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota, who resigned after being charged of corruption.
Likewise, the Ministry for Urban Development, which was also under the responsibility of outgoing Minister Baskota, was designated by the President to Minister Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management Basant Kumar Nembang, according to spokesperson of the Office of the President Hari Prasad Dahal.
