KATHMANDU, Aug 6: As many as 87 more people have been diagnosed with novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in three districts of Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
Addressing the virtual media briefing on Thursday afternoon, the ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Jageshwar Gautam said 76 positive new cases were confirmed in Kathmandu district alone. While 10 other people were tested in Lalitpur, one other was tested in Bhaktapur in the past 24 hours.
With the government's decision to lift the 120-day long lockdown, the Valley has witnessed a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases. MoHP reported 51, 62 and 62 other cases in Kathmandu Valley on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
