Thirty-four years old Yan Bahadur Bohara beat his mother Raimati Bohara (55) to death after a minor altercation with her, Ilaka Police Office, Belauri said.
His wife Dhana Bohara (29) and daughter Nirmala Bohara (15) who had gone to rescue the mother were also injured due to the beating. They are undergoing treatment at Primary Health Centre, Belauri.
The locals took Yan Bahadur under control and handed him over to the police.
