According to DSP Siddhi Bikram Shah of the District Police Office, the landslides claimed the lives of three women and a man, while a minor has gone missing. "We are facing difficulties in carrying out search and rescue operation due to bad weather and continuing landslides," he informed.
The deceased have been identified as Suku Maya Tamang, 35, Keshav Tamang, 11, Som Bahadur Tamang, 36, Furkur Tamang, 36, of Gorsyang; and Tek Kumari Thapa Magar, 80, of Samari-7. After the rescue operation, the police handed over the bodies of the deceased to their relatives for final rites.
According to DSP Shah, two out of the six people who sustained injures in Gorsyang are in critical condition. The injured have been identified as Ashmita Thapa, 20, Sanju Maya Tamang, 6, Sundar Bahadur Tamang, 38, Suman Tamang, 17, Ashok Tamang, 8, and Anisha Tamang, 12.

Among them, the critically injured Sundar Bahadur and Sanju Maya were airlifted to Kathmandu and taken to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj. The remaining four are receiving treatment at Trishuli Hospital of the district.
