The event started at 5:00 p.m. and lasted three hours, featuring more than 6 musical performances from both American and Nepali students.[break]
The Nepali Student Association (NSA) began in 1995, but this is the first year that the club performed "Nepal Nite" in Ritshe Auditorium. The theme was "Parichaya," which in Nepali means "introduction".
Faculty members such as Ann Radwan, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, International Studies, and Mitch Bender NSA Advisor spoke at the event.
NSA President Suresh Niraula gave the welcome speech to the high-energy crowd.
In his speech, Niraula thanked his parents, who were present, for coming all the way from Nepal to watch the performance.

He also thanked guests who had reportedly driven from other states such as Alabama and South Dakota to attend the event.
After the speeches, 2010 graduates Isha Subedi and Ashwini Jha hosted the show from then on. They were a comical pair who made jokes and introduced each upcoming act.
The auditorium was filled during the show, but quickly emptied when the time for food approached.
Food was served in Atwood Ballroom. Nepali food included chicken curry, pulao, spinach curry and chana masala served with hot, Nepali-style white rice.
Even with the large crowd, guests were permitted to go up for second and thirds.
According to the NSA website, there are around 300 Nepali students studying at the University today.

"The main purpose of NSA is to provide a platform for the Nepali students at SCSU to communicate with each other and with the University. NSA aims to promote and educate a better understanding of Nepali culture and heritage to all students and to the St Cloud Community."
The show contained a variety of performances including a band, a concert, dances and a documentary.
Musical pieces included ´Pachhim koi Purba Ghar,´ ´Zindagani Darpan Chhaya,´ ´Sano Prakash,´ ´Mohani Lagla hai´ followed by a remix, ´Sodha Aafu ke aafu lai,´ Khukuri Dance,´ ´Dhiki chyaun, Dhiki chyaun,´ and ´Timi Kansar Ma."
