KATHMANDU, Aug 17: Gold was expensive by Rs 800 per tola (11.6638 grams) last week, while the price hit the record high value at Rs 150,800 per tola in the Nepali market.
The records with the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations (FENEGOSIDA) show that the price of gold stood at Rs 148,800 per tola on the first day of the week, escalating to the record-high level of Rs 150,800 on Tuesday. The market value of the precious metal reduced by Rs 1,200 per tola to reach Rs 149,600 per tola on Friday.
Gold price reaches all-time high of Rs 156,800 per tola
According to the FENEGOSIDA, an improvement witnessed in the US economy along with an improvement in its share market led to a notable rise in bullion price last week.
Likewise, silver has been dearer by Rs 40 per tola. The price of silver escalated to Rs 1,760 per tola from Rs 1,720 per tola in the review period.
