FATULLAH, Bangladesh, June 10: India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first in the one-off test against Bangladesh starting Wednesday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium.Bangladesh handed a debut to wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das, who will be behind the stumps due to a finger injury to captain Mushfiqur Rahim, who will play as a specialist batsman for the first time in eight years.
Mohammad Shahid is Bangladesh's only specialist pace bowler, with Soumya Sarkar likely to share the new ball with him.
India, now captained by Virat Kohli, left out Cheteshwar Pujara, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Karn Sharma.
Of the seven previous tests between the two teams, India won six — three by an innings — and the seventh was a rained-out draw.
