Police rescue abductee

BIRATNAGAR, Aug 15: Supervisor at Nepal Telecom´s regional directorate in Biratnagar Shekhar Pokharel, who was abducted on July 17 from Devangunj of Sunsari, has been rescued by Nepal Police with the help of Indian Police. DIG Bhisma Prasai said Pokharel was rescued from India and has been handed over to his family.



Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha had taken responsibility for the kidnapping and had demanded Rs 5 million ransom. Pokharel family has claimed that they had paid Rs 1,200,000 to the outfit.
