Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge to be launched today

KATHMANDU, April 16: Samsung Nepal is launching the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in the Nepali market on Thursday.

The South Korean company had unveiled these flagship phones at Mobile World Congress 2015 held in Barcelona in the first week of March. Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge were launched in India on March 23 priced at IRs 49,900 and IRs 58,900, respectively.


Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, with high-end specifications and attractive design, are certain to add a new dimension to Samsung Nepal's already glamorous product line-up.

Apart from their design, both the phones share common features. Both the phones have metal and glass body. Both the phones have 5.1-inch 2K (2560x1440 pixels) Amoled display. These devices operate with Exynos 7 chip octa-core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz (Galaxy S6) and 1.5 GHz (Galaxy S6 Edge).

Like its predecessor Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6 also sports 16 MP primary camera. It has 5 MP secondary camera, compared to 2 MP in Galaxy S5. Both Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have 3 GB RAM. Samsung is expected to launch the phones with three storage options -- 32GB, 64GB and 128 GB.

Galaxy S6 is powered by 2,550 mAh battery while S6 Edge uses 2,600 mAh battery. Samsung has claimed that the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge feature the ability to fast charge the battery -- letting users to watch two hours of HD video from just 10 minutes of charging.

Integrated Mobility Solution (IMS), the authorized distributor of Samsung mobile phones for Nepal, had announced pre-booking for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge from April 1.
