Organizing a press conference in the capital on Monday, the club informed that all preparations for the event are over. According to tournament coordinator Padam Kumar Shrestha, the tournament will feature six teams, including three departmental teams - Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club and Armed Police Force - and Adhikhola Sports Club of Syangja, Dhorpatan Volleyball Training Center of Kathmandu and the host's Samajik Youth Club.
The four-day tournament will be played in league-cum-knockout format after dividing six teams into two groups. The top two teams from each group progresses to the semifinals.
The winner and the runner-up will be awarded Rs 111,111 and Rs 60,111 respectively. The third and fourth place finishers will be given Rs 35,111 and 11,111. The best player of the tournament will be rewarded with Rs 5,000 while best setter, blocker, defender and quicker will be given Rs 3,000 each. Similarly, the best coach will receive Rs 4,000.
The expected cost of the tournament is Rs 1.2 million. National Sports Council (NSC) has provided Rs 35,000 for the tournament while the organizing club shall mobilize its own resources and collect donations from locals for other expenses.
