PLA teams off to cholera-hit areas

CHITWAN, Aug 8: Teams from the third division of the Maoist People´s Liberation Army (PLA) in Chitwan and the fourth division in Nawalparasi have left for the mid-west districts on Saturday to help contain cholera outbreak in the districts.



A 17-man medical team under Ranjit from Shaktikhor and a 15-member team led by Bigyan from the fourth division left with medicines on Saturday.



Accusing the government of negligence in handling the epidemic, health chief of the fourth division Prem Prakash Oli said the PLA has been mobilized as per the directives of the party high command.
