KATHMANDU, March 9: As many as eight flights were put on hold in the sky for half an hour for allowing landing the flight of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Monday.

Flights including Air India from Kolkata and New Delhi, China Eastern Airlines from Kunming, Etihad from Abhudhabi, Jet Airways from New Delhi, Qatar Airways from Doha were put on hold in the air for an hour after 3 pm this afternoon.
According to sources at the Tribhuvan International Airport(TIA), the flights were put on hold citing the security of Bollywood superstar Khan.
“We ordered to keep the flights on hold from 3 pm to 3.30 pm today to allow the landing of the flight of Actor Khan,” sources informed.
According to Bharat Kumar Shrestha, Chairman of the Airlines Operators Committee, passengers suffered a lot due to the shutdown of the TIA for brief period today which had come into operation on Saturday evening following 4-day’s closure after a Turkish Airlines Airbus skid off the runway and blocked it off.
