Election fever grips Rasuwa district

RASUWA, Oct 16:  Election fever has begun to grip the district as the poll date is approaching fast. Political parties in the district are busy in devising their poll strategies in a bid to win the upcoming election to the Constituent Assembly (CA).



According to Nepali Congress (NC), it has been focusing on forming and strengthening its sister organizations including Tarun Dal, Nepal Women’s Association (NWA) and Nepal Peasant’s Association. [break]



According to Devaki Railale Chairperson of NWA, they have particularly focused on strengthening the sister organizations. Lamakarpu Tamang is contesting the elections from the NC in the district.



The party informed that more than 100 UCPN (Maoist) cadres have joined the NC recently.



Similarly, the CPN-UML district party office said that more than 200 UCPN (Maoist) cadres including district leaders to ex-PLA members have joined the UML so far in the last three weeks.



Janardan Dhakal, UML candidate in the district, informed that his party has welcomed  particularly those cadres who had earlier defected to the UCPN (Maoist) from the UML.



Likewise, UCPN (Maoist) candidate Prem Tamang is conducting door to door campaigns to woo voters in the district.



Tamang, who won the last CA elections, claimed that he would be victorious this time too as its rebel candidate withdrew his candidacy.
