Two die, 11 go missing as micro-bus plunges into Trishuli River

TRISHULI, Oct 14:
Two people died, nine people were rescued alive and 11 are still missing in the micro-bus accident Monday evening at Fisling of Chitwan district, said police.



Two people died in the accident when Ba 2 Kha 2598 plunged into Trishuli river. The deceased are identified as Nisha Poudel, 22, of Lalitpur and Australian national Key Nick Mariya, 32. [break]



Nine person are rescued alive by this morning and search is on for the 11 missing, said DSP of Area Police Office, Mungling, Rohit Dulal.



Police has estimated that more than 22 passengers might have been in the vehicle.



As the micro bus could not be found, some passengers could be inside the vehicle. Police, Armed Police Force and locals are searching for them. One injured is unconscious and two are serious, police said, adding the death toll might increase.



The two bodies are kept at Bharatpur hospital for postmortem.



The cause of the accident was high speed, police quoted injured passengers as saying.
