FNCCI officials meet Indian envoy

KATHMANDU:The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has requested newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, to take initiative for brining foreign direct investment in the country.



At a meeting with the Indian envoy on Friday, FNCCI President Suraj Vaidya said Nepal needs Indian investment for the country´s economic development. During the meeting, officials of FNCCI also underlined the need for bilateral investment in Nepal´s hydropower sector so as to meet energy demand in both the countries. [break]



Responding to the FNCCI officials, Rae expressed commitment to support Nepal in its economic development. He also assured the FNCCI officials that he would take initiative for bringing Indian investment in Nepal´s infrastructure and hydropower sector among others.
