The police have found the dead body of Shivaji Roy Yadav, son of Binod Roy Yadav, a resident of Karkach Karmaiya VDC-9 in Rautahat, in a sugarcane field at around 10 a.m. The boy was missing from early Thursday morning. [break]
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Govinda Ram Pariyar, the boy´s throat has been slit with a sharp knife.
The police have arrested two including the boy´s uncle Birendra Yadav for investigation. According to SP Pariyar, the the police suspects Birendra´s involvement in the murder as his clothes were stained with blood.
Similarly, the police arrested Lalo Devi, a local resident, on the basis of broken pieces of glass bangle found in the sugarcane field, which matched Lalo Devi´s bangles.
The police have suspected that a long-drawn row over a plot of ancestral land might have led to the boy´s murder. "We can´t surely say anything now, though," said SP Pariyar.
The boy´s murder has shocked the entire village. "We fear for lives of our children," said Ishwori Prasad Yadav, former president of Karkach Karmaiya VDC. "The culprits should be nabbed and punished at the earliest."
