KATHMANDU, May 2: As many as six individuals have filed their candidacies for the mayoral post of Kathmandu Metropolitan City so far.
Kishor Thapa, Binod Kumar KC and Amod Maharjan have registered their candidacies as independent candidates while Ranju Neupane alias Ranju Darshana, Surendra Parasad Dhakal and Niyog Kumar Thapa have filed their candidacies from Bibeksheel Nepali Party, Desbhakta Dharmatantrik Samajik Morcha and Rastriya Janamorcha respectively.
56 candidates file nominations for KMC mayor
Wrestler Bharat Bahadur Bisura, popularly known as Himalyan Tiger, has also reached Rastriya Sabhagriha to file his candidacy for the mayoral post.
Bisura had fought the elections as an independent candidate from constituency no. 10 in the second Constituent Assembly elections from where Pushpa Kamal Dahal had contested the elections.
