6th Dhakatopi Day to be observed on January 1

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The Aware Youth Campaign Nepal has announced to observe the sixth Dhakatopi Day with various programs.

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The Aware Youth Campaign Nepal has announced to observe the sixth Dhakatopi Day with various programs. As part of the festival that falls on January 1 every year, a morning rally will be organized, said the organizer. The rally will start from Maitighar Mandala at 8 am.

The slogan for this year's festival is 'Nepali topi: our pride, our identity'. The Campaign in a statement demands that Nepali topi (Dhaka topi, Bhadgaule) be declared as the national identity of the country. 


"Every country in the world has its own original identity. So we are searching for our national identity. We have involved in the campaign for the past five years in a bid to put pressure for meeting our demand," reads the statement. RSS
