NC to be flexible given polls before mid Dec

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: The Nepali Congress (NC) has said that it will maintain a maximum flexibility on the demands floated by the CPN-Maoist but maintained that the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls should be held before mid December. [break]



Emerging from a meeting held at President Sushil Koirala’s residence in Maharajgunj, on Saturday morning, NC Spokesperson Dilendra Badu said, “Our party is ready to exercise maximum flexibility on the demands of the CPN-Maoist and is even ready to defer polls for one-two weeks if the CPN-Maoist takes part in the coming CA polls."



However, he ruled out the postponement of the slated polls date beyond mid December.



Meanwhile, NC central committee member Arjun Narsing KC said the NC cannot agree to the full proportional system.
