FNCCI draws attention of govt on indstrial strike

KATHMANDU : Business leaders have urged the government to step in for ending the ongoing industrial strikes in Hetauda and Birgunj.



Workers employed in different factories in Hetauda and Pathlaiya-Birgunj industrial corridor have been disrupting operation of some industries for the last couple of months, demanding pay rise. [break]



A delegation led by Bhashkar Raj Rajkarnikar, senior vice-president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), on Friday apprised Labor Minister Hari Prasad Neupane of the situation in these industrial clusters and urged the government to take immediate steps to restore industrial peace.

The delegation also raised concern over the ongoing strikes that have been launched without following the process and spirit of collective bargaining. It also drew the attention of Minister Neupane toward the impact of the strikes on industrial peace.
