Addressing a press meet in Kathmandu on Sunday, Gachchhadar said, “We have almost prepared the draft of our election manifesto. We will make the party´s manifesto public by the end of September.” He further said they would stand for two provinces in the Tarai.
Gachchhadar also claimed that the central committee of his party was inclusive as it includes representatives from various communities. We are fielding 10 Muslim candidates from our party for the November polls.”
Asserting that the Madhesi people were in the favor of a single alliance of Madhesi parties, he said, “We are holding talks with other Madhesi parties and I am hopeful we will jointly contest the polls.”
Asked if the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), a loose alliance of five Madhesi parties, was still active, he said UDMF was still “alive and legitimate”. MPRF-D, Sadbhavana Party, TMDP, TMDP-Nepal and MPRF-Republican are the five constituent parties of UDMF.
Taking strong exception to UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s statement that Madhesi parties are the most corrupt, Gachchhadar said, “Dahal took our support at the time of government formation. Now he is trying to defame us.”
On a different note, he claimed that his party would win elections in at least 50 constituencies under the First-Past-the-Post electoral system. “We will file candidacies from 200 constituencies.”
