During the talks, the two secretaries agreed on implementing the Air Service Agreement between the two countries for early operation of flights between Colombo and Kathmandu.

They also stressed the need to make functional the Joint-Commission as soon as possible and strengthen the bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, tourism and culture and health and education within the framework of the Joint-Commission.
Both the Air Service Agreement and the Joint-Commission mechanism were proposed during the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa´s visit to Nepal in March.
