Lama to lead equestrian association

KATHMANDU: National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama was unanimously elected president of Nepal Equestrian Association on Friday. The first general assembly of the association unanimously elected a 16-member executive committee. Lama was also the president of the ad hoc committee.



Nawaraj Silwal is the senior vice-president while Deepak Bista and Rajiv Shah are the vice-presidents of the newly-elected committee. Similarly, Balaram Shrestha is the general secretary, Prakash Chandra Ghimire the secretary, Ramesh Man Malla the treasurer and Mohammad Fajil is the co-treasurer. [break]



Diwas Guragain, Roshan Bahadur Shrestha, Karan Chaudhary, Saroj Mishra, Dawa Tamang, Lokjung Lama, Gyan Bahadur Gurung and Prem Moktan are the members of committee.



The general assembly was participated by 26 representatives from five district associations, central committee and two clubs. The meeting on Friday also nominated Akkal Bahadur Bam as vice-president and a representative of the Nepal Army as the ex-officio vice-president. Likewise, Krishna Shivakoti and Nawaraj Nepal were nominated as members.
