KATHMANDU, July 22: Central Committee (CC) member of the Madhesi People´s Right Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D) Sanjay Sah has quit the party on Monday, accusing party chairman Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar of neglecting the concerns raised by the Madhesi people.

Talking to Republica, Sah said, “I have tendered my resignation today and I am willing to join any other Madhesi party.”

Accusing Gachchhadar of neglecting Madhesi people´s concerns, Sah said, “Gachchhadar is only concerned about his personal ambitions.”

MPRF-D Secretary Ravindra Thakur, however, rubbished Sah´s accusations. [break]

“Sanjay Sah is a notorious gangster and his being in the party could have tarnished the party´s image. So we decided to sack him,” he said. He further said that Sah is joining the Rajendra Mahato-led Sadbhavana Party (SP) as its vice-chairman.

“We had expelled him earlier for violating the party code of conduct,” said Thakur. “His resignation would not affect our party,” he said.

SP General Secretary Manish Kumar Suman said his party is ready to welcome him to his party. “We will offer him a responsible position in the party,” said Suman.

However, Sah said that he had not yet decided to join any party.
