KATHMANDU, June 6: Minister for Land Management and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal has said that a proposal to bring the illegally grabbed land belonging to Lalita Niwas under government ownership will soon be sent to the cabinet.
In an interview with Nagarik Frontline on Wednesday evening, Minister Aryal said, “The ministry is currently holding consultations with other ministries,” she said.
Minister Aryal said that Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Land Management and Poverty Alleviation, and the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police are separately conducting investigations into the issue and that the investigations are in the final stages. “Those illegally grabbing government land will face actions as per the existing laws,” she said.
Aryal also said the government is committed to bringing all such grabbed land under government ownership within a year and that a powerful commission formed for the purpose had already started its work.
