Leopard attacks two, killed by police

LAMJUNG, July 18: Police killed a leopard that hurt two persons at Simpani of Parewadanda in Lamjung district on Saturday morning.



Megh Nath Sedhain, 43, and Narayan Maurati, 30, were hurt when the leopard attacked them on Friday evening. Both of them have been sent to Kathmandu for treatment.



Police from Kunchha killed the leopard when the beast terrorized the villagers. The beast´s body has been brought to District Forest Office, said police.



It is said that the number of leopards has increased after the conservation of community forests in the villages in the district.



A leopard killed a man at Bhoteodhar of the district recently.
