TANAHUN, March 13: This year around 66 students of Tanahun will be prevented from appearing in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) due to low attendance.

"As per the provision, the students sitting for SEE should have at least 75% attendance," said Dilliram Bhattarai, chief of the Examination Department of the District Education and Coordination Unit, adding, "So, those with less attendance will not be eligible for SEE."

As per the details provided by the Unit, 6,291 students will be appearing in SEE from Tanahun this year. Last year, the number of students participating in SEE was 6,256. This year altogether 24 exam centers have been determined in the district, which includes 15 in election constituency 1 and nine in constituency 2.

Altogether 485 students will be taking the exams from Nirmal Secondary School of Damauli, which is the highest while the exam center of Chowk Secondary School, Rampuretar will hold only 173 examinees, which is the lowest of all centers.Currently, students are preparing for SEE, according to Bhattarai. "We are busy transporting answer sheets to various exam centers," said Bhattarai, adding, "But we are yet to fix the invigilators and center chiefs." According to him, mostly the principals of the respective schools will be appointed as the chiefs of the exam centers. SEE will start from March 24 and will conclude on April 4.

Examination Management Office formed by the provincial government will be responsible for conducting SEE and checking the answer sheets.
