: The cable car service in Manakamana resumed from Tuesday morning after the cable car management agreed to fulfill the demands of protesting security guards who had disrupted the country’s only cable car service for the last three weeks.

“The cable car service resumed from 9 a.m. today after some maintenance for the last two days as agitating security guards called off their strike Friday,’’ said Ashok Shakya, an official at Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd.
Some 27 security guards, who were hired from Garuda Security by the cable car company, had disrupted the cable car service demanding increase in pay and perks.
A tripartite agreement was signed among cable car management, Maoist affiliated labor union and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Friday.
“Their security company agreed to grant permanent status and other benefits to them (guards) as per the Labor Act. The cable car company also agreed
