KATHMANDU, April 28: Bibeksheel Sajha Party (BSP) has changed its name to Sajha Bibeksheel Party (SBP) through a meeting of the Central Committee of the party held in the capital on Saturday.

The decision to change the name of the party lead by Rabindra Mishra came as a solution to the confusion created by the similarity in the name with another political party which split from it.

“Bibeksheel Nepali Party (BNP) which was formed by a faction of leaders from the erstwhile BSP is popularly known as Bibeksheel,” a statement issued by the party reads, adding, “We have changed the name of the party as a solution to the confusion in name.”

The statement also claimed that the decision was taken as per the suggestions of the well wishers of the party. The party held a three-day meeting of its central committee members from April 25 to 27.
