SUNSARI, Sept 28 : Police seized a large quantity of marijuana from Koshi Rural Municipality-7 in Sunsari district. Acting on a late-night patrol at around 2 a.m. under the festive security operation, a police team from the temporary post in Haripur found 18 sacks of marijuana abandoned along the East-West Highway.
According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, the seized marijuana weighed approximately 637 kilograms and 45 grams. Authorities said they are investigating to trace those involved in transporting and smuggling the drugs.
Over 16 quintals of marijuana seized in Sarlahi
In a separate incident, a police patrol from the temporary post in Nepalatar, Udayapur, arrested two women with marijuana during a security check. Liladevi Ram (45) of Lahan-17, Siraha, was found with 6.8 kg, while Asmita Ram (40) of Lahan-8, Siraha, was caught with 5 kg of marijuana. Both are in police custody for further investigation.
