RPP-Nepal's banda hits normal life in Jhapa

JHAPA, May 10: Normal life in Jhapa district has been hit hard today due to banda suddenly called by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-Nepal by demanding release of its arrested cadres.



Transport services have been completely halted along the East-West Highway, Mechi Highway as well as other roads in the district due to the banda.[break]



Meanwhile, cadres of the party set a truck on fire at Charpane this morning for defying banda, according to the District Police Office.



The cadres torched the truck after sprinkling petrol on the truck. Police have arrested three persons on the charge of their involvement in the incident, today, and that investigation into the incident is underway, it is learnt.



Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bhuwaneshwor Tiwari, said that RPP-Nepal called banda demanding release of its two cadres, who were arrested on Thursday in connection to an abduction case.
