He requested one and all not to let the unity and integrity of the country fall apart. "I urge that the Nepalese garland of the Himalayas, the hills and the tarai, so meticulously woven together through the common efforts of the Nepali people and my ancestors not be broken by either internal discord or external ill will."
He further said that he is "committed to nationalism, national unity and time-tested democratic dispensation."
